And just like that, in the blink of an eye, I have 10 Grandchildren. Where has the time gone. It seems like yesterday when I had so many plans of marriage and children. It was such a busy time. Thinking back even earlier in my life to my childhood. Toys were scarce and I don’t remember having many. My best memory of toys was a particular Christmas when I received a used Doll. The doll had no clothes on and her hair had been partially cut off. I asked my mother if she had any clothes and her response was that we were going to make her some. I accepted that and with the help of my sisters, we did just that. I don’t ever remember receiving any other toys in my childhood.
After I was married and had children of my own, I started planning for each Christmas to be a happy one with gifts and toys. Money was tight but we were always able to make each one special. I love seeing children and watching them play. Children have a way of enlightening the room. They can create a full blown scene with just a few objects. I have loved watching my grandchildren create and act out different characters. Toys have been a very special part of each of their lives. Anything from, Dolls, cars, robots, books, games, tea sets, animals, electronics, art supplies and so much more!. It all plays an important role in the makings of a well rounded adult. I love toys and consider them to be “Tools of Life”
